It took a while, the Last Waltz series finally got big enough to go outside at averaging 1600mm high, two selling on opening night with a third finished overnight fill an exhibition invitation! Developed to be dismantled in three pieces enabling shipping to become alot more viable. The base cone can also be constructed hollow so it can be filled with a weighted material like sand of pebbles or pinned to the ground depending on the location

I`ve been waiting for the right time, some inspiration and in the meantime a decade has ticked by since my last foray into clock making. It could be worse, time might have just passed me by altogether.
Like several of the last directions The Waltz clocks were inspired by a summetime sculpture project called The Last Walt which was a result of my Summer play things. Inspired with some ideas, I get to play around with resin components, branches, leaves, paintings, explore whatever I want and just as important no two are alike. The best of machine, art and handmade. You know its the summer holidays when Ponsonby is hot and empty- its a good time to play around. Digging out the half finished pieces, rummaging through boxes and flicking through old sketchbooks. Music at full volume drowning out the phone, its self indulgent bliss and a good way to start the year
Just having fun with The Waltz. Three sculptures inspired by a cafe. The type of project where its easy to play around, have some fun and see what happens. cast resin , various techniques, stainless steel, 650mm high Part of a collaborative open arts project between Corban Estate Arts Centre and Westfield WestCity. The brief was create an artwork themed to a participating Westfield WestCity business.......more Finally finished and delivered around 20 pieces including ceramic lights, resin icons, waltz & tool sculptures. www.kohiaart.co.nz 8-10 June Gala opening on Friday $40 entry Some preview photos of tonights Gala Opening of the Baradene Art show. Got invited to exhibit more ceramic lights a few hours before the opening -33works in total. Its good for business and doesn`t hurt the profile either
This series of balancing sculptures continues along with wall mounted pieces. The detailing, finishes, shapes and colours all contributing to a toy like quality. The objects are made from resin utilising several casting technigues, table ones 275mm h & wall 500mm The Last Waltz Project is on Ronald`s Visual Arts Research website, subtitled Art play and Indulgences.
